As Director of Engineering & Construction, Dave Olson manages site transformation from existing conditions through finished construction with final delivery and occupancy to tenants. His responsibilities include conceptual project design, project budgeting and scheduling, A/E consultant supervision and administration, entitlement presentations and approvals, and construction contract negotiation and administration.
Dave’s extensive experience encompasses project management coast to coast including 42 states, with project budgets exceeding $200+ million. Dave has delivered shell and turnkey projects to a multitude of national and regional tenants including Home Depot, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Academy Sports, Aldi, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Hobby Lobby, AWG, Circuit City, Ross, Marshalls/TJX, Petco, Petsmart, 5 Below, Jo Ann’s, Ulta, Sleep Number, Texas Roadhouse, Five Guys, McAlister’s Potbelly, First Watch, Firebird’s, Starbuck’s, and many other retail, restaurant and grocery tenants.
With over thirty years of experience in commercial development, design and construction, Dave possesses a unique ability to foster trusted relationships with utility, environmental and local development regulatory agencies. He creates distinctive solutions to site challenges resulting in accurate project budgets and schedules.
Dave graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering and from Missouri Western University with a Bachelor Degree in Engineering Technology & Construction Management. Dave resides in Leawood, Kansas with his wife and two sons. Dave’s hobbies include antique cars, hunting and fishing with his family.
